The Salon was opened in July 2007 by hairdresser Richard Williams and his wife Jane.

Richard already had 25 years experience in the hair industry with his own salons in Nairobi, Kenya

and Jane had a background in design.  

After his return to England, Richard and Jane moved to the sleepy village of Sherfield on Loddon and noticed a small florist shop next to a classic old garage in the middle of the Reading Road. "That would make a great hair salon" remarked Jane! A year later the florist  shop went out of business and the rest, as they say, is history! 

Over the last 10 years The Salon has undergone 3 phases of development - the original conversion of the florist shop; the subsequent reconfiguration of the upstairs flat for added hairdressing space plus beauty room and finally, with the Garage closure in 2010, knocking through to make the space you see today.

Our team continues to grow and from humble beginnings The Salon now employs 14 members of staff

and offers a budding apprenticeship scheme, of which we are very proud!
